Artist of the month

For the month of November and December, I have been listening to a specific artist. I have listened to all three albums. Normally I prefer to listen to more depressing and dubstep style music like GD and 2ne1, but this time, I have been listening to soothing music. The music is really soft and relaxing, and the artist has a really light and enjoyable tone of voice. THe artist is Lim KIm. She has been in a drama with L in Shut up Flower Boy. HEr most popular song may be Alright, but I have really been enjoying her songs Urban Green, Rain, and Voice from her "HEr VOice" album. This has been my most listened to album of the month. She has three albums. A Voice, HEr Voice, and the newly released Goodbye 20. I just absolutely love her music. It's perfect for working and listening!

Enjoy some of her music:

Doom Dada

TOP just came back with Doom Dada. THe song was very disappointing. I felt like my oppa's mv budget was being cut by alot just because of Jiyoung (GD)! The song was like okayish because TOP is really a singer, more a rapper. The "long time no see" in the intro sounded soooo sexy and amazingggg though. The intro was good. The song becomes very catchy after listening for a while. THe mv was interesting. There was a gorilla and some wierd baby doll. I dind't really like how the mx was filtered black and I feel like they should dye TOP's hair again. I give the song a 6/10 because it was catchy, bu their wasn't alot of expressed emotion or vocal techniques shown. He should have featured a good singer. I'd give he mv a 4/10. I vas very disappointed in the lack of effort that the directors put to make a good mv.  And he looked really ridiculous in a mustache. This wasn't a good MV, but I still love TOP and I NEED TO WATCH HIS MOVIEEEEE.

Ringa Linga

Taeyang hits it again with a catchy new single, Ringa Linga. For me, the song is alright, but I felt alot of melodic repetitions or vocal techniques from his previous songs. I felt like the tone wasn't fresh enough. Yeah, the dance was definitely great, buy I hate his hair. Just no. The melody was nice and upbeat and the chorus was very easy to remember and really caught me and my friends. The one thing i've always loved is Taeyangs super awesome piano intros for his songs. They are always catchy, and strong intros are always loved! Overall, I give the song a 7/10, the song is catchy, but I felt like I wanted to hear something different. The video gets a 4/10. Its so dissappointing. There's alot of greenscreen moments and the video just didnt compare to GD's over the budget sets. Maybe YG spent all the money on Gd. ㅋㅋㅋ. Lol, overall good job 태양. And also, YG's making a bunch of exquisite comebacks!

Missing You

2ne1 came out again with one of the most amazing songs ever. I even learned how to sing it too! Omg, this is like the first song that reached me with the depth of the melody. Amazing piano sounds, and the tune is absolutely catchy. The lyrics are so intense and deep. The song is very depressing which is exactly what I love. I have to parse 2ne1 for making their hangul easy to read because all their songs are easy to sing. The song really suited each member in different parts. About the ruckus about CL being naked, I felt like that was just an artistic representation of emptiness and sorrow. I didn't feel any sexuality in it. For the song, the chorus was sooo catchy! LOl, I give this song a 10/10 for 2ne1 a job well done. I feel like they should be given more attention over songs like Ringa Linga, and Doom Dada. The video gets a 7/10. The lyrical feeling really supported the lyrics, but I wish they could have added a little more on the camera angles and so on. Good work 채린, 산다라, 민지, and 봄!

Topp Dogg

My kpop buddy Alana, recently became interested in this new boy band called ToppDogg. I really wanted to do a post on this because I haven't done many band reviews yet!

ToppDogg consists of thirteen members: B-jooHojoonP-GoonYano, Nakta, A-TomXeroJenissiSeogoongSangdo,Hansol, Kidoh, and Gohn. They held a showcase on Oct 22, and debuted on the 24th with their 1st Mini Album, Doggs Out, and their title song, say it. They are under Stardom Entertainment.

They go under the hip hop style, music wise. I've taken the time to analyse and listen to their album, and I've got to say, I was impressed, especially for a rookie group. I feel like the songs were more for dance, rather than the melody, but I found many songs very catchy. Most members also already have twitter. I"d give the album a 7/10, considering that they did incredibly well for a rookie group. Also, I took into consideration that some members composed the lyrics and melodies!

The title song was called "Say It" was definitely very catchy, as the words were really competitive. I didn't really like the word they used. If you are a non-korean, or a slow listener in general, you could hear the word "malohey mallow". I don't know how I felt about that. The group showed aggressiveness and masculinity through out the mv with strong and sharp dance moves. I'd give the video a 6/10, because I feel that recurring theme of heavily filtered and blurred mvs throughout many different videos. It's kind of boring when you watch things with the same theme all the time. THe theme felt like Infinite's Destiny, and so much more videos this year. Also, I don't really get the names of the members. Like, seriously, why make weird american names, when you can stick to easy to remember korean names?

Trouble Maker- Chemistry

So Trouble Maker (Hyunseung and Hyuna) just came out with their Chemistry Album.
The songs are actually really amazing and you should go check it out!

The

내일은 없어 (Now)' M/V just came out.

The video was definitely r rated and was definitely sexual. I think the style that they went for in their last video Trouble Maker is kinda mixed into this one, melody wise. The song is very upbeat, lots of voice sounds, raps styles. I think the video is about how the guy (Hyunseung) has a really messed up life. Drinking, smoking, and he cant go the right way. Also, Hyuna, his girlfriend is trying to steer him in the right way, and is telling him that he still has her. I'd give the melody a 6/10, nothing unique or too  musical, but definitely catchy. The beats really great. I'd give the mv a 8/10. I'm considering this in the viewpoint that they are targeting; older audiences. THe video gives a really clear message and clear moral. People will help you and care for you when you want to change for the better.
Anyways, enjoy and here's a link:

Heirs:
This drama is already getting me hooked in after 3 eps. This drama is rich of good looking and talented actors. Lee Min Ho stars as the main character, heir of Jeguk Group. Park Shin Hye stars as Cha Eun Sang, the female lead and the heir of poverty. Tan, like every other one of Min Ho's dramas is a rich character. Tan's brother Kim Won (Choi Jin Hyuk) owns is the President of Jeguk Group. He sent Tan to America so that he would not have any part in the group. Kim Woo Bin plays Choi Young Do, heir of Zeus Hotel, Krystal Jung of fx starts Lee Bo Na, heir of MEga Entertainment and girlfriend of Yoon Chang (Kang Minhyuk of CN Blue). Rachel Yoo (Kim Ji Won) is the fiancee of KIm Tan and the heit of RS International and is YOung Do (WooBIn)'s stepsister. Park Hung Shik plays Jo Myung Soo and he is heir to Seungr Law Firm, and Jo YOon Woo plays Joon YOUng. The drama is about how Cha Eun Sung goes to America to find her supposedly getting married sister. To her dismay, she finds out that her sister is living a crappy life and her sister runs away. She meets Kim Tan who takes care of her until her close friend Yoon Chang picks her up. It shows how Tan and her love is being separated and stuff and how they meet in life. THe drama is amazing and you guys should go check out.
 The drama

Dramafever- If you watch a lot of dramas like me, you might want to consider getting premium. I think the episodes get locked after a few eps.

Songs of July

its been a long time. Sorry. I had exams coming up and I became buseee. Anyways, kinda late but I want to talk about songs that have come out lately and I have been obsessed with.

1. 2NE1 Falling in Love
Oh man, this song was the best considereijng there were actually guys in the video. The video honestly wasn't the best 2NE1 song ever, but the melody was like OMG epic. They always pull it off. I have to say, Daras hair looked well... awkward and very damages. She only had like a few parts which were heavily autotuned. I did enjoy it when she said roller coaster. haha. The guys were actually both in dramas I had been watching. Curly guy is Hong Jong Hyeon who plays Moo jin in Cyrano Dating Agency alongside Sooyoung from Girls Gen. Did I tell you the main guy looks so barfy? Well, he was ugly. Sorry, you fangurls out there. Anyways, other guy which I already started noticing before the mv, is Lee Soo HYuk in Shark. Really good drama. Both guys were also in the sitcom Vampire Idol which I have yet to watch/ Woo bin is there! Enough guys, CL was as epic as ever. Totally beat her disappointing Baddest female. "na na pa gizibe" lolz. "unnie-oh". Loved her nails, her little Johnny depp rap. Minzy looked really happy and fresh. Shes gone a long way and her hair looks amazing. Here outfit was the best out of all of them. Dara and her aluminum foil top, cl's fishnet polkadot, and Bommie, don't get me there. Bom got less parts then usual and I didn't hear her too much. Anyways, falling in love has been the top of my playlist and I heard that they are going to have a new mv every month until December? Until they make an album.

2. Infinite Destiny
Waiting until the clock strike 11 and being the 0 viewer on youtube. I cried. Best Infinite song ever. The charisma is good and all of them looked HOT. Sungyeol actually had a part and everything. The song is just to catchy and I feel like the song really represented Infinite's style. man in Love wasn't as good. They looked masculine and pro. The coolest thing was that they had the opportunity to shoot at universal studios. Wow. The song has the catchy English phrase and I just absolutely love it. Btw, if you didn't know, the reason why the video says version b is because version A had an airplane crash scene in it. At the time, Asiana airlines crashed causing Woollim to smartly edit out the scene to block controversy. I hope version a comes out one day though....

3. Henry Trap
Its pretty old but why not. Henry is Torontonian and Canadian like me and his piano and violin skills are no joke. I learned how to play the intro to trap though. so hard. The song was by far the most amazing one. I could listen to it without his actual voice. I'm sorry, as much as I love Kyuhyun, his high pitch voice just ruined the song. sigh.. sorry suju kiddos. Anyways, Henry was so awesome in the mv!

4. Shadow B2ST

My friend Alan showed me the song and its showed up on my most played in my playlist. The mv is deep and the rapper's eyes rolled back scared the crap out of us. The aluminauti sign in the video was pretty chilly too. The song though, is really catchy, nice chorus and well put melody. TBH, the English was not too god as I thought they were saying Cello throughout the song. I have to praise B2ST's consistently catchy songs. It seems to me that Yoseob is slowly losing aegyo. LOng gone turtle necks, slimmer face, abs!?! LOL, ill get back to you soon. Inspirits hwaiting~Gloria

Infinite Story Chapter 2

Hope y'all enjoy may newest Chapter!

It's nighttime right now and I just can't do my homework. I have a little secret to confess. The money that my parents gave me for swimming class I actually splurged on kpop merchandise, and e classes for learning korean from Star Academy. Yes, though I am korean, my parents can only speak, not write korean as they were born in California and moved to Toronto. Now if I could just somehow figure out how to convince my parents... " Soo mi, come down for dinner" " Yes mom. " Daebak! It's kimchi stew! I go down and here's my plan:
1. I complement mom's stew and I bring up that myungsoo's Fave food is kimchi stew.
2. Speaking of him, I launch into the fascinating subject of Kpop
3. Then I "remember" my form, give it to my mom and say casually, " Mom, may I go to Star Academy?"
Kay, time to put my plan into action.  I walk down the stairs, and before I can open my mouth, my mom looks at me seriously and says, Soo mi, pleases don't be sad, but....

Infinite Story Chapter 1 :)

So this is where everything starts. I apologize if the story is exceedingly cheesy, but I have a secret obsession with cheesiness. I wanna tell you that the story may be dragged real long but like I wanna make it real long. If you do not appreciate the characters, just fill in the names of the characters with your biases!  Kay, on to the story.

10:00. It's art class right now, and I'm sketching proportion. The model is  from the dance section and I end up like the girl in playful kiss, sketching myungsoo's body. His squinty eyes, flawless skin and photogenic face. Absolute perfection.  "Soo Mi lets see- wait, what is this?" Says Mrs S. I look down onto my sketchbook, and to my surprise, Myungsoo's dreamy face stares I right back at me. " This isn't the first time you've been daydreaming about infinite" Mrs. S says annoyingly. "I'll have to all to your parents if this happens again. The class chuckles and I slide further down my seat. The bell rings and I quickly pack up my things. Mrs. S motions for me. I walk to her desk and she tells me. " We will be having an exchange program next month. I was wondering if you would like to go over to Star Academy in Korea as a participant. Omg, I thought to myself. Star Academy was where all the cool stars went to for high school and university! Snsd, Shinee, BAP, btob, and most importantly, Infinite went there, and that was only a few stars! Star Academy was so elite and now I was getting a free chance to go there! " I know you love kpop so I thought it would be nice to let you go. Just sign the form and bring one friend." I hurriedly grab the forms and I rush to the next class, excited until class ends.

Infinite Story

Hey everybodees! Imma start posting a fanfic called Infinite Story!

Here's the intro. Hope you like it!

Soo mi steps out of her closet and swirls around to check out her appearance. Leather jacket, infinite sweater, Levi's, and mint green converse with doodles of infinite fandom. "Not bad," she thought to herself. Infinite. To her that word meant her sole purpose of life, an addiction or a relief for stress and overly abusive person. A band that made the beautiful in her come out

My trip to Seoul

Last December, I went on an exciting trip to Seoul, South Korea. I stayed there for a week and I went on a tour. I actually went to Hong Kong for the main place, but I enjoyed my time in Korea greatly as well as a short trip to Taiwan. So on the first day I that I arrived at Incheon Airport, I travelled to the country side where everything was cold, but not as cold as Canada. The hotel room was ginormous and it consisted of heated floors, 3 mega rooms, a fridge, stove, everything, electronic toilet, awesome shower, subtitled kbs and sbs, a gorgeous bed, and an extra room to sleep. The place  was so totally new, and when we walked across, their was an indoor waterpark with food vendors, shops, and everything. Their was also a supermarket. The wifi was amazing and my family walked around eating. The only problem was that the waiter didn't know English so we had to like use hand signal. It was really hard and difficult. The next day, we went skiing and like it was epic. So basically, at the time, all Korean students were on break, and so we awkwardly sat there eating those octopus snacks. WE ate 8 freakin boxes of it and the man was like WTF are these people? Anyways, day went great and I like watched Suzy and Kim Soo HYun's Bean Pole commercial like fifty times. So like the next day, we moved elsewhere and basically the whole day we went sightseeing and ate dukkboki. I even sipped a bit of soju whuch tasted awks. I spat it out cuz I am just so responsible! Anyways, we stopped by a few cosmetic stores and I ended up buying many things. So next day, day 3, we went to the urban area. We went to Ramada Hotel which was very small and yeah. WE basically lived on Hagaan Daz and our family toured around. WE also went to the place where they shot Winter Sonata. I drank Caramel Macchiato and ate rice cakes. It was like extremely cold and like my relatives from HongKong almost died. Anyways, the last day, we went to see a show. WE saw some artists and a small kpop group that you probably don't know. After that, we ate fried chicken and ate kimchi. WE also had pork belly and beef. Delis. So that was my super summarized adventure! Hope you LIke it! ~ Gloria!
